Learning to Love
This is the title track for the TIMEPIECE album "honey I would set our timepiece back to the start..."
For the extended guitar outro, I asked Phil Keaggy to reference David Gilmour's solo on Pink Floyd's Comfortably Numb. Phil delivered two masterful takes.
While listening back to the second take, I forgot to mute the first take—and the result was stunning. The two guitars weaved in and out of each other as though they had been played that way intentionally. Rather than choose between them, I kept them both.
What began as a simple "mistake" became one of my favorite moments on the record, with Phil's two guitars providing an emotional exclamation point to a very personal song.
Instrumentation
Acoustic guitar foundation, dual soaring guitar outro (Phil Keaggy), piano and B3 organ, brushed drums, and heartfelt harmony vocals.
